About the Practice
Anderson B. Funke, M.D., and S. Larry Holmes, M.D., are board certified family practice physicians specializing in the healthcare needs of the whole family, from infants to seniors.
With more than 18 years of experience in the Greenwood area, Dr. Funke and Dr. Holmes are committed to maintaining a positive and trusting relationship with every patient.
Through continuing education and training, they are able to provide patients with the newest treatments available in family medicine. The practice is affiliated with the Self Regional Wound Healing Institute and provides patients with access to state-of-the-art wound care treatment and services.

Our Vision
Our goal is serving our patients in a compassionate environment that allows attention to be given to the physical, emotional and spiritual health of our patients. This is achieved by spending time with patients to find out what is important to them and how they can be active participants in their own care. We consider all aspects of a patient’s life and try to help our patients understand these issues and how they may impact their overall health. Nutrition and exercise counseling is typically a part of the care we provide. The Physicians
Anderson B. Funke, M.D.
Dr. Funke was raised in San Diego, Calif. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy and obtained a degree in mechanical engineering. After he attended medical school at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Md., he was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS). Dr. Funke completed his residency in family medicine at Self Memorial Hospital, where he met and trained with S. Larry Holmes, M.D. He practiced in Calhoun Falls for five years before becoming medical director of Carolina Health Centers in Greenwood. In January 2003, Dr. Funke was transferred to Panama City, Fla., to develop and staff an indigent clinic in the area. After completing his service with the PHS, he moved back to Abbeville. Dr. Funke and his wife, Debbie, have five children.
S. Larry Holmes, M.D.
Dr. Holmes grew up in Greenwood, S.C., graduated from Greenwood High School and received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Colorado. After a year in research, he attended the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. His internship was at Emory University in Atlanta, and he finished a residency in family medicine at Self Memorial Hospital. There he met Anderson Funke, M.D., and began what continues to be a valued friendship. Dr. Holmes spent six years in private practice in Abbeville before going to the Philippines, where he served the urban poor for eight years in a mission clinic. He and his wife, Billie, have five children.
