Occupational health focuses on health and safety in the workplace and the prevention of hazards. Family Healthcare • Newberry offers a variety of services for employers and employees.
Medical Home Model
We follow the “Medical Home Model,” which places patients and their families at the center of care. Under this model, the physician coordinates and manages care across all areas of the healthcare system, which includes hospitals, home health agencies, specialists, consultants, nursing homes and rehabilitative facilities, along with other components of our healthcare network. 
The “medical home” acknowledges that quality care is provided not in episodic, illness-oriented care, but through patient-centered, physician-guided, and cost-effective care that encompasses and values both the art and science of medicine.
An attribute of the “medical home” is promotion of an ongoing relationship throughout delivery of care in a variety of care settings – according to the needs of the patient and skills of the medical provider. Physicians help patients navigate through the healthcare system by providing guidance, insight and advice in language that is informative and specific to patients’ needs. The Model puts major emphasis on wellness and preventive medicine.
